It's Links Golf, but not where you would expect it (spoiler alert, it's within the M25).

This was our first event of the year with the sponsors American Golf. This was held at Ingrebourne Golf Club in Essex. It's a links style course, within the M25; yes, you did read that correctly.

We decided to mix things up and have 2 divisions so the prizes would be 1st and

2nd in each division. The day started off wet as we were driving to the course the heavens

opened up and I was expecting it to be a wet round of golf.

But the golfing gods had better ideas the weather started to change and clear up but the wind started to make an appearance and as we prepared to go out, with the wind up to 30mph!

It did stay dry and although it is inland it was definitely playing like a links course with a very long 599 par 5 hole that even our big hitters couldn’t reach in 3 shots.

It was definitely a very hard test of golf for all of us. Having said that I really did like the course and so did many of the other members and many said that they would love to play it again next year.

So if you haven’t been I recommend a trip out there.

We also welcomed a new member to the society Oliver Dann. I do hope you enjoyed the day and that the very high winds didn’t put you off.

We had a match play game and the result is as follows:-

Ivaylo Botyov Nikolov v Adrian Hyyrylainen-Trett and Ivaylo won 5 & 3
