Tricky times with Essex Bois

This was a new venue for us as we hadn’t played this course before so we were not sure what to expect.

We were greeted with lovely helpful staff and nothing was too much trouble for them. The course was a testy one a bit like Manor of Groves, you really had to plot your way round.

It is one of James Braid's earliest designs and is one of the eldest golf courses in Essex. Fairways were tight and tree lined and not every hole was a driver with ditches and hedges to play up to. The Course was in good condition, with greens that run very true.

Also we had a new member join us so was great to welcome Frank Butler.
